  5. Missoni plans to extend Kubix Link from home furnishings to ready-to-wear collections.

Missoni has cut time spent managing and maintaining product data by 60% after implementing Lectra's Kubix Link product lifecycle management (PLM) platform. The Italian luxury house now runs more than 20,000 SKUs and nearly 1,000 new product developments a year through the cloud-based system.

The deployment went live after a 12-month implementation, beginning with master data creation for a new collection. More than 40 employees across product development, quality control, merchandising and compliance now use the platform. More than 20 suppliers and subcontractors have direct access to technical product information, reducing reliance on email exchanges across the supply chain.

Why did Missoni need a new PLM?

The company, founded in 1953 by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni and known for its knitwear and geometric textile patterns, brought its Missoni Home furnishings business in-house. That decision created new requirements for managing product development, production and supply chain information across multiple departments.

Missoni needed a flexible digital platform that could integrate with existing business systems while supporting a portfolio spanning ready-to-wear, sportswear, beachwear, accessories and home furnishings. It selected Kubix Link, extending a supplier relationship with Lectra that began more than 25 years ago with computer-aided design (CAD) technology.

What does the platform deliver?

Kubix Link centralises product specifications, technical documentation and collection data in a single environment. Internal teams and external partners access consistent information throughout development, including complex collections with substantial multimedia content.

According to Lectra, centralising this information delivered the 60% reduction in product data management time while improving workflow efficiency and accelerating collection development. Antonella Capelli, President of EMEA at Lectra, said the project shows how PLM can drive organisational change.

"Projects such as the one delivered with Missoni demonstrate how a PLM solution can become a true accelerator of transformation," Capelli said. "Our Kubix Link solution enables companies to address organisational and business changes with agile, scalable tools, ensuring operational continuity, reliable data and effective alignment across business functions and the partner ecosystem."

How does the buyer rate the rollout?

Andrea Mariani, IT Business & Omnichannel Manager at Missoni, pointed to the platform's adaptability and speed of implementation as decisive factors.

"Kubix Link helped us achieve our objectives thanks to its versatility and ability to adapt quickly to our operational needs. One of the most valuable aspects was the ability to implement new functionalities within a short timeframe, combined with timely and effective support," Mariani said.

He framed the 25-year Lectra relationship in three words: integration, flexibility and collaboration. Beyond efficiency, the platform gives Missoni a consistent digital foundation for product traceability, regulatory compliance and future supply chain requirements, with integration capacity for additional functionality as needs evolve.

What comes next?

Missoni plans to extend Kubix Link beyond home furnishings to its ready-to-wear collections, creating a unified platform for increasingly complex product development. For sourcing and compliance teams, the case signals that supplier-facing PLM access is becoming standard practice for mid-sized luxury brands managing distributed production. Suppliers to Missoni should expect technical product information to move through the platform rather than email.
