Construction
Carvico exhibits at Performance Days Munich, 13-14 October 2026, Stand R14, with four new warp-knitted stretch fabrics: Iseo, Denver, Kyoto and Versailles.
Denver incorporates Lycra Adaptiv fibre from The Lycra Company for adaptive stretch, targeting leggings and athleisure.
All performance claims, including laundering durability for Versailles, rest on Carvico's internal testing, not third-party certification.
Carvico will exhibit four new technical warp-knitted stretch fabrics at Performance Days in Munich on 13–14 October 2026, at Stand R14. The Italian manufacturer, which has produced warp-knitted fabrics since 1962, is positioning the collection as a single sourcing platform spanning sportswear, outdoor, athleisure and casual apparel.
The commercial logic behind the launch is category convergence. Carvico is engineering individual fabrics to work across apparel categories that buyers traditionally source from separate fabric lines, giving garment developers flexibility to combine structures, surfaces and performance characteristics within single garments and coordinated outfits.
For sourcing teams, that means fewer fabric platforms covering more end uses — a consolidation play aimed at brands whose assortments blur training, leisure, outdoor and urban wear.
Iseo: dual-surface construction
Iseo is a lightweight fabric with contrasting surfaces. One side carries a compact brushed construction with a matt appearance and natural handle; the opposite surface is smooth and designed to support a clean, precise garment fit.
The reversibility broadens its application range. With the brushed surface worn externally, Iseo delivers a soft, cashmere-like technical aesthetic for layering and under-jacket garments. Reversed, it places the brushed face next to the body, targeting transitional apparel, trekking and mountain applications.
Denver: leggings fabric with Lycra Adaptiv
Denver combines the soft tactile characteristics of conventional leggings fabrics with the structural advantages of warp knitting. The fabric is sleek, compact and fully opaque, with stretch and recovery engineered for close body contouring and consistent fit.
The construction incorporates Lycra Adaptiv fibre from The Lycra Company. The fibre technology provides adaptive stretch, helping garments accommodate different body shapes while supporting freedom of movement. Carvico targets leggings and athleisure applications where opacity, dimensional stability, stretch and recovery are the key specification requirements.
Kyoto: bonded construction
Kyoto demonstrates bonded warp-knitted construction. It pairs a highly matt technical surface with a soft, fluid handle, combining performance characteristics with a more refined garment aesthetic.
Its stretch, comfort and fit profile suits technical sportswear for transitional seasons. Its drape extends the fabric into casual and lifestyle apparel, including jackets, trousers, bomber jackets and lightweight coats.
Versailles: stretch corduroy
Versailles takes warp knitting into a traditionally woven aesthetic with a stretch corduroy construction. It combines a warm, soft surface with the flexibility required for contemporary casual and sports-inspired clothing.
Carvico has engineered the fabric to hold its original appearance through repeated laundering and prolonged wear — a durability claim backed by the company's internal testing, which it says supports all product development in the collection. Target applications include stretch jackets and trousers moving between leisure, sporting and informal environments.
Supplier profile
Carvico develops technical stretch textiles for sportswear, fitness, apparel, swimwear, underwear and footwear markets. Its R&D focuses on combining advanced production technologies, innovative fibres and specialised finishing processes. The company says its fabrics are developed around resistance, comfort, protection, innovation and durability.
Performance claims for the four fabrics — stretch, recovery, opacity, dimensional stability and laundering durability — derive from Carvico's own internal testing rather than third-party certification. Buyers evaluating the platform for performance programmes should verify test data at Stand R14 against their own specification protocols.
The sourcing decision the launch forces is straightforward: brands consolidating fabric platforms across converged sportswear and lifestyle lines can now quote one Italian mill for constructions that previously required separate knit and woven suppliers. Whether the durability and recovery claims hold under independent validation will determine if that consolidation sticks.
